Sorry to say, but I just don't have anything this week to post in regard to my topic. I have tried to search different databases, but can't seem to find anything that adds to what I've already posted. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right spot, but so many databases to look at and not enough time! I've tried to look in the ones that deal with more technical issues, but come up with a big fat ZERO with search results. I'll say again, that I don't see the relevance of this type of technology with what we are doing in and educational setting to pass on to students or use in our educational settings! VERY FRUSTRATING INDEED!!!

About Me

- Name: Cyn
- Location: Endwell, New York, United States
I'm a graduate student of Syracuse University with a MSLIS-School Media certification. I am currently the Library Director of a small rural library and love it!! I have four boys, with only one left at home in his first year of high school:/ I used to live on a small mini farm of 3 acres raising goats, chickens, rabbits, pigs, ducks and geese. Unfortunately, after my divorce I was forced to leave that lifestyle. While it's been years from leaving that life, I long to return to it "some day." I miss it so very much! I'm finally in a place where I can begin to think of returning to that lifestyle so I enjoy reading blogs about what others are doing out there living the dream!

Hi Cynthia,
I actually came across something this week. Not a website or article, but an application in which SCORM is applied. I had downloaded a free trial copy of a program called Articulate. It is a program that takes PowerPoint presentations and automates them for people who run online courses or who do a lot of presentations for training purposes.
Well, when you go to publish your presentation you have a whole bunch of options regarding the format you want your presentation to look like. For example, do you want the presenter’s personal info in a sidebar or would you want the slide titles in a sidebar or do you not want a side bar. After you make all the selections regarding appearance, you have to select the type of presentation that you want. SCORM format is an option. The computer will figure out all of the metadata that it needs to attach to your presentation and it will put your presentation into the SCORM format. Basically it is so that if you put your presentation on the web with the intent that other people can use the presentation (to share it with the world so to speak), it is saved into this common format. This way someone in Timbuctoo who is looking for a presentation can search through a repository of presentations that are all in the same format and finds what he or she needs.
In any case, it’s twelve weeks down and 3 left to go!
