Hi All! Well this week say goodbye to wikis and hello Shared Content Object Reference Model (SCROM). You will find more in depth information at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCROM , but basically it is a collection of standards and specifications for web-based e-learning. It was born out of the Advanced distributed Learning Initiative, which comes out of the Office of the Secretary of Defense. I have to admit, I'm still a little fuzzy on the whole thing and finding information has been a challenge, but I will persevere onward. For now reading the website posted will give you as it did me a jump start on this new concept.

About Me

- Name: Cyn
- Location: Endwell, New York, United States
I'm a graduate student of Syracuse University with a MSLIS-School Media certification. I am currently the Library Director of a small rural library and love it!! I have four boys, with only one left at home in his first year of high school:/ I used to live on a small mini farm of 3 acres raising goats, chickens, rabbits, pigs, ducks and geese. Unfortunately, after my divorce I was forced to leave that lifestyle. While it's been years from leaving that life, I long to return to it "some day." I miss it so very much! I'm finally in a place where I can begin to think of returning to that lifestyle so I enjoy reading blogs about what others are doing out there living the dream!

Hi Cynthia,
Wow what a mouthfull! When I tried to open the link to wikipedia, it told me that no such page exists. I think it may just be that two letter are backwards in the acronym (SCORM instead of SCROM).
It seems like it's an extension of the concept of classifying LOs so that they are findable and reuseable, but now taken to the level of the applications used. It'll be interesting to see if they are facing some of the same problems.
Little too theoretical for me at this point. Hopefully you will find some applications of it to share with us!
A little late, but just found the following article on Wikis: http://yro.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/12/01/2224232&from=rss
